Throughout human history we’ve depended on stone architecture and fire for a comfortable life, so here at Humphries Stonemasons we believe we are carrying on a vital age-old tradition in supplying stoves for heating as well as hand-crafted stonework for fireplaces and other practical and decorative features.
The business is currently run by Barry Humphries, Master Mason, who is proudly carrying on a family concern which has been established for more than half a century.
We’re based in the market town of Hungerford in west Berkshire, lying alongside the Kennet & Avon Canal and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Known as a centre for antiques and flea markets, it’s a fitting town to inspire craftsmanship of the highest order, and being close to the M4 motorway it gives us access to a wide area for our work.
Our combined activities of offering bespoke stone masonry services along with supplying and installing top brand woodburning and gas stoves means we cover all the basics required for a cosy, warm and architecturally impressive home.
It’s our mission to enrich the lives of our clients with the beauty of natural stone, professionally worked with precision and care, whether it’s a stone floor, kitchen worktops, a magnificent fireplace or bathroom fittings. All our stonework is unique and traditionally hand-crafted.
As HETAS registered technicians we are accredited suppliers and fitters of the latest makes and models of energy-efficient gas fires and sold fuel burners, and we offer ongoing cleaning and maintenance services. We create a warm ambience in your home which goes beyond the temperature.

Our experienced stone masons can craft anything, from statuary and memorial headstones to pillars, porticoes and stone-flagged patios. We give bathrooms the wow factor, and make kitchens sparkle with quartz or granite.
